There are 2 sides to each mattress. A therapy side that has the stretching effect and a normal side. With the KOMBI mattress the non-therapy side is thickened with a third layer. This middle layer is cut to your width, size, weight and the curves of your lower back and neck. You get 100% benefit from the customisation when you sleep on the non-therapy side, however you get 100% therapy effect from the therapy side AND then also 50% of the customisation. You will experiment which side you adore most and simply use that side. Hence the name "KOMBI"!

Initial research at Geovital starting in 1982 brought to light for the first time the issue of electrically conductive bed materials. This showed in most cases an increase of the effects of low- and high frequency fields caused by metal spring cores, Latex, Horse hair, Viscose foam, mattresses with silver threads and other materials used inside mattresses.
The Geovital Academy was looking for suitable mattress materials to recommend these to patients and in order to do this performed extensive tests on more than 600 mattress types. To great surprise there were no materials available who met the high demands of the Geovital Academy.
This forced the development of new techniques to craft the suitable mattress materials, which was later expanded on with a stretch function through the involvement of orthopaedic surgeons. This should especially give relief to those people already suffering from joint and back pains. A simple mechanical effect should convert pressure on the nerve tissue into a pressure-relieving pulling effect. Research done in 1988, 1990 and 1991 already showed a surprisingly high success rate of 92% relief of joint pain and 88% of back pain. (Health statistics from dissertation)

What is static electricity build up?
In physics one speaks of a coupling of the body to electrical fields and in medicine from the resulting irritation of the nerve system, the vegetative system and the calcium ions responsible for bone regeneration. This can be caused by low- and high-frequency fields that can arise due to incorrect bed materials.
A classic example of this, would be the resonating effect between transmitters of mobile phone towers, tv broadcast stations etc and the bed materials. Through this or through the materials themselves a static charge builds up.
It has been observed that particularly this problem is getting worse from year to year, due to radio, mobile phone technology, WiFi Hotspots and Digital TV. Nowadays, especially in the suburbs and cities, you can not get away from this anymore except by professional wall covering shielding materials.
Stretch Effect

The diagonally positioned slats are folded down by the body weight. Through this the top of the mattress is made longer towards the top and the bottom and generates a stretching effect relevant to the body weight. The aim is to reduce the pressure on the spine into the negative by means of a -0.8 to -1.0 kg pulling effect.
Based on tests, it's use results in a 48 hour pain free period. Sufficient for normal daily life.
